Here in Greater Des Moines, it's easy to be a kid. Whether your concept of family enjoyable is a skate park, a smash park, an amusement park, or an actual park, Des Moines is the best escape, no matter if you're young or simply young at heart.
Gee, what could be more fun than spring break with the kids? Here's a list of things you can do with the rugrats for free, and they're enjoyable, too.
The outdoor park is totally free to go to every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You'll see whale watchers on the patio with their telescopes and binoculars. The little however fascinating museum explores the history of the location, consisting of the now-defunct Marineland. Register here: Bring a jacket and enjoy the telescopes and expert assistance at a "Starr Party" at Caspers Wilderness Park from 7-9:30 p.m. There will be stargazing devices on hand, but you can also bring your own. Activities occur at the nature center. Free admission, but parking is $5.

Parks Neighborhood Leisure Center at 7 p.m. to win prizes, then enjoy a picture booth, video games, dodgeball, Karaoke and more till 9 p.m. 30875 Rancho Vista Road, Temecula.
